SCORM Classroom Bridge ("the App") is operated by Designs for Learning ("we", "us"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your:
- Name and email address
- Google account ID
- Profile picture URL
- Google Workspace domain
Google Classroom Data
With your authorization, we access:
- Course names and rosters (students and teachers)
- Coursework and assignment metadata
- Student submission states (for grade synchronization)
SCORM Activity Data
When you interact with SCORM learning content, we record:
- Completion status and scores
- Time spent and attempt history
- SCORM runtime data (bookmarks, suspend data)
Server Logs
We log HTTP requests (IP address, URL, timestamp) for security and debugging. Logs rotate automatically and are not shared externally.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Authentication — Verify your identity and match you to your school organization
- Course management — Import courses, sync rosters, and publish assignments
- Grade synchronization — Push SCORM scores back to Google Classroom
- SCORM playback — Track learning progress and resume where you left off
- Administration — Enable school and district administrators to manage users and content
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only transmitted to:
- Google APIs — To sync courses, rosters, and grades with Google Classroom (using your authorized permissions)
4. Data Storage and Security
- The App is self-hosted by your school or district on infrastructure they control
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS
- Google OAuth tokens are held only in your browser session and are not stored in the database
- Background sync uses a Google service account with domain-wide delegation, authorized by your Workspace administrator
- Access is restricted by role (student, teacher, org admin, district admin, super admin)
5. Data Retention
Account and SCORM activity data is retained as long as the school organization is active on the platform. When an organization is removed, all associated user records, course data, and SCORM packages are deleted.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA / FERPA)
The App is used in K-12 educational settings under the direction of schools. We do not collect data directly from children under 13 — all student accounts are created through Google Workspace for Education, which is managed by the school. Schools are responsible for obtaining any required parental consent.
